This original collection is inspired by the many al fresco gatherings Megan has hosted over the years in our beloved Leelanau Peninsula.
"Pass the Heirloom Salad" was painted was captured at the Hygge Stay Farmhouse in Northport, Michigan and as friends pass the most classic dish of all, they chat about life on a warm summer night in August. There is nothing more summer dinner party then a scene such as this.
Katherine’s balance of realism and abstraction gives life and familiarity to these candid interactions, telling a beautiful story about seasonal living on the Great Lakes.Their names are intended to sound like a conversation you’ve had with your friends and family while planning a meal or passing a dish. Like the scenes they depict, they are welcoming and casual – the perfect complement to the life and love in your home.
Paintings are mixed media acrylic, gouache and neo-crayon on birch wood panel. They are set in a 2.5” deep maple wood floater frame. They are signed by Katherine and ready to hang.
The clean-cut edges and minimalist frames set boundaries for Katherine’s loose brush strokes and playful marks.
